About these terms

These terms apply to every purchase of The Complete Route500 Collection and the Official Route500 Trip Plans from Route500 Scotland ("we", "us") through route500scotland.com. Please read them before you buy. By placing an order you agree to them.

1. Who we are

Route500 Scotland, 20-22 Wenlock Road, London, England, N1 7GU. You can contact us at [email protected] or by replying to any email we send you about your order.

2. What you are buying

The Complete Route500 Collection is a set of four digital documents: the Official Route500 5-Day, 7-Day, 10-Day and 14-Day Trip Plans, each supplied as a PDF file. They are digital content, not physical goods. Nothing is posted to you.

3. Price and payment

The price shown on the order page is the total price, in pounds sterling, including any VAT that applies. Payment is taken in full at the time of the order through our payment provider, Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. Your order is accepted when payment has been authorised and we send the delivery email; that is when the contract between us is made.

4. Delivery

Delivery is by email. Once payment is complete we send download links for all four plans to the email address you gave at checkout, and the same links are shown on the confirmation page. If the email has not arrived within an hour, check your junk or promotions folder, then contact us and we will resend the links. The links do not expire; please save the files to your own device once downloaded.

5. Right to cancel and refunds

Because the plans are digital content delivered immediately, the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 ends once delivery begins. At checkout you request immediate delivery and acknowledge that this ends your right to cancel; by paying, you give that consent. For this reason we do not offer refunds for a change of mind once the delivery email has been sent.

This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If a file is faulty, corrupted or not as described, contact us and we will replace it or, if we cannot, refund you.

6. Your licence to use the plans

When you buy the Collection we grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to download, store, print and use the plans for your own trips, for as long as you like. You may make copies for the people travelling with you. You may not sell, rent, publish, share online or otherwise distribute the plans or any part of them, remove our branding, or use the content to create a competing product. All copyright and other rights in the plans remain with Route500 Scotland.

7. Accuracy of the plans and third-party information

The plans describe a route through remote country and refer to businesses and places we do not control: hotels, campsites, cafés, attractions, car parks and roads. Opening hours, prices, availability, road conditions and closures change, and we cannot promise that every detail is current on the day you travel. Please check with the venue before you rely on it, book accommodation directly with the operator, and follow road signs, local advice and weather warnings over anything in a plan.

Navigation links open Google Maps, a service provided by Google under its own terms. Route notes and the Offline Navigation Guide are practical suggestions, not a substitute for your own judgement as the driver. You are responsible for driving safely and legally.

8. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss that was not a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, for loss caused by a third party's information or services, or for business losses. Our total liability to you in connection with a purchase will not exceed the price you paid for it.

9. Changes to the plans and to these terms

We update the plans from time to time. Buying the Collection does not entitle you to future editions, although we may choose to send them. We may change these terms for future purchases; the version in force when you order is the one that applies to you.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may also rely on the consumer protection rules of the part of the UK in which you live. Disputes may be brought in the Scottish courts or, if you live in another part of the UK, in the courts of that part.
